Last Day at the Cafe
A2Mia worked at Sunny Cafe for two months last summer. On her last day she woke up early and put on her blue uniform. She arrived at the cafe at eight o'clock. Her friend Leo was already there. They cleaned the tables and prepared the coffee machine together. At ten o'clock the first customers came. Mia served twenty-three cups of coffee before lunch. She also sold thirty-two slices of cake.
After lunch the owner Mrs Reed gave Mia a small gift. It was a pretty notebook. Mrs Reed said she was happy with Mia's work.
At four o'clock Mia and Leo washed the last dishes. Then they wrote their names on the big calendar for next year. Mia felt a little sad when she left the cafe at six o'clock. She was going to start school again soon. But she planned to return next summer.
