B1 #33 · Comparer « autrefois » et « j'en ai l'habitude »

I grew up on a farm in Wales. When I was a child, I used to get up at six to help my dad with the animals. In winter it was still dark, and my brother and I would walk to the school bus with torches. We didn't use to have the internet at home, so in the evenings we'd read or play cards. A few years ago I moved to London for work, and it was a shock. I wasn't used to the noise, the crowds or the prices. For the first few months I couldn't sleep because of the traffic outside my window. But you get used to everything. Now I'm used to the noise, I hardly hear it any more. I'm used to taking the Tube, and I've even got used to paying four pounds for a coffee. The one thing I'm still getting used to is my tiny flat. I used to have a whole house and a garden; now I have one room and a window box with three plants in it. My mum says I'll get used to it. Maybe. But every time I go home, I spend the whole weekend outside.
