The house where I grew up was built in 1890 and has been repaired twice since then. Last year my parents had the roof replaced and the windows painted. When I rang them, my mother said that the work was almost finished and asked if I wanted to come in June. She advised me to book my train early, because prices had risen again. My father, who never uses the phone, offered to pick me up from the station. Whose idea was it to paint the front door blue? Nobody remembers.
