Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Speecher.org collects, where the text you type goes, and which third parties are involved. We keep it short and specific: you never need an account, and we do not build profiles of you ourselves.

What we store on your device

Speecher.org runs in your browser. Your recent phrases, chosen voice, theme and similar preferences are saved in your browser's localStorage — that is, on your own device. They never leave it unless you explicitly share a link. You can clear this data at any time from the History tab or by clearing your browser storage.

The text you type, and where it goes

To turn text into speech, your text has to reach whichever voice you picked. What happens depends on that choice:

We do not require, request or store your name, email address or any account for any of this.

Advertising

Speecher.org is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, and Google — as a third-party vendor — uses cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. Google may use these to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

Advertising partners receive data through your browser (such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the page you are on) under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Anonymous usage analytics

We record aggregate, non-identifying events to understand which TTS languages and voices are used, how much audio is played per day, and which countries our visitors come from. The data we keep is limited to: a per-tab session identifier kept only in your browser's sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab), the event type and timestamp, the TTS language and voice used, audio duration, your country (ISO-2 code, resolved server-side from your IP — the IP itself is never stored), the referring domain, UTM tags from your URL, and the page you visited. Our own analytics use no cookies and store no IP addresses, and raw events are deleted after 90 days; only aggregate daily totals are kept longer. A third-party analytics service is also used for visitor counting and may set its own cookies subject to its privacy policy.

If you contact us

When you send the contact form, the name, email address and message you provide are sent to us directly so we can reply. We keep them only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and we do not add your address to any mailing list. The form is protected by a simple spam check and a short-term per-network rate limit.
