Superlativ se gradi isto kao komparativ, ali sa the.

dva sloga na -y the + -iest happy → the happiest
dugi pridevi the most + reč the most expensive, the most interesting

Ista četiri izuzetka: good → the best, bad → the worst, far → the furthest, little → the least.

the je ovde obavezno — predmet je jedini u svom nizu, a to je upravo ono pravilo o članu iz lekcije A1 #14.

Dva predloga posle superlativa:

in — uz mesto the biggest city in the world
of — uz grupu the best of all, the youngest of my friends

one of the + superlativ + množina: Belgrade is one of the biggest cities in the Balkans. Imenica ovde obavezno stoji u množini — reč je o jednom od nekoliko.

the most expensive hotel. Srpski nema član, a „najveći“ već sam kaže da je predmet jedini. U engleskom uz superlativ uvek stoji the, i ispred most.

Srpsko „najveći na svetu“ navodi na on, a mesto posle superlativa uvodi in.
