Grammatica

5 min

have / has + terza forma del verbo.

I have finished my work. → I've finished. Ho finito: il lavoro è fatto.
She has gone home. → She's gone. È andata a casa: qui non c'è.
Have you eaten? Hai mangiato?
I haven't finished yet. Non ho ancora finito.
Yes, I have. / No, I haven't. Risposta breve.

Con he, she, it — has, con tutti gli altri — have.

I finished the work at five. I have finished the work. (è pronto)
She went home an hour ago. She has gone home.

just — appena I've just finished.
already — già I've already eaten.
yet — già (nella domanda), ancora (nella negazione); in fondo Have you finished yet? / Not yet.
still — ancora (con la negazione) I still haven't finished.

just e already si mettono tra have e la terza forma, come «appena» e «già» in «ho appena finito», «ho già mangiato».

Errori tipici degli italofoni

adattato alla tua lingua
1

Il passato prossimo con un momento preciso

✗ I have finished at five

✗ She has gone home an hour ago

✓ I finished at five

She went home an hour ago.

2

be al posto di have

✗ She is gone home

✓ She has gone home

In She's gone, 's è has.

3

yet messo dove sta «già»

✗ Have you yet finished?

✓ Have you finished yet?

4

«Ancora» sempre con still

✗ I haven't still finished

✓ I haven't finished yet

I still haven't finished.

Pronuncia

3 min

's può essere sia is sia has — lo distingue solo ciò che viene dopo:

She's working. = she is (davanti a -ing)
She's gone. = she has (davanti alla terza forma)

have e has nel parlato sono atoni: /həv/, /həz/, e spesso addirittura /əv/, /əz/. I've finished suona /aɪv ˈfɪnɪʃt/, tutto d'un fiato.
