Control B1
Trenta preguntes sobre la gramàtica del nivell, una per cada lliçó amb un tema nou, un dictat, la lectura en veu alta d'un text llarg i un text escrit. Per passar al B2 cal un 80 % a la gramàtica (24 de 30). El dictat es corregeix paraula per paraula, però no compta per al llindar; la lectura en veu alta i l'escriptura no es puntuen.

Gramàtica: trenta preguntes

Lectura en veu alta
I grew up in a small fishing town on the north-east coast, where my grandfather had worked at the port all his life. By the time I was born, the port had closed, and most of the young people had left for the cities.
I've been living in Manchester for almost ten years now. I'm used to the noise and the traffic, and I've even got used to the rain — well, almost. When I was a student, I used to go back home every summer, and my grandmother would cook enormous meals and tell us stories about the old days.
Last spring I went back for the first time in years. The town was much quieter than I remembered, and many of the shops had been turned into holiday flats. Although it made me sad, I could see that the town was changing, not dying. A young couple, whose café had opened the year before, told me that more and more people were moving there to work from home.
If I had more time, I'd go back more often. The longer I stay away, the more I miss the sea. As soon as the children finish school this summer, we're going to spend a whole month there.
Què s'ha après al B1
Els temps i el futur. El Past Perfect i el relat amb antecedents (B1 #1, B1 #2), el límit entre el Present Perfect i el Past Simple (B1 #3), el Present Perfect Continuous (B1 #4), les cinc formes del futur (B1 #5), el Future Continuous: una acció en curs en un moment del futur i la pregunta educada sobre els plans (B1 #7), el present amb sentit de futur darrere de les conjuncions de temps (B1 #31).
L'irreal i la modalitat. El segon tipus de condicionals i If I were you (B1 #8), wish i If only (B1 #9), la suposició amb must, might, can't (B1 #10), be able to, manage to, be supposed to, be allowed to, don't need to (B1 #11).
La passiva i l'estil indirecte. La passiva en tots els temps (B1 #13), have something done i la passiva amb get, My bike got stolen (B1 #14), l'estil indirecte amb concordança de temps (B1 #15), els verbs per transmetre advise, offer, suggest i el consell directe You'd better (B1 #16), les preguntes indirectes (B1 #19).
La frase i la conversa. Les frases de relatiu especificatives i explicatives, whose (B1 #17, B1 #18), les preguntes cua, demanar que et repeteixin una cosa, So do I (B1 #20), els verbs que canvien de sentit stop, remember, try (B1 #21), want somebody to, make i let (B1 #22), els phrasal verbs dels quatre tipus (B1 #34).
Paraules i connectors. Les parelles both … and, either … or (B1 #6), hardly (B1 #12), els articles com a sistema i another, the other, others (B1 #23), no longer (B1 #24), els quantificadors most, none, a few (B1 #25), l'ordre dels adjectius i -ed davant de -ing (B1 #26), paraula + preposició: verb, nom, adjectiu (B1 #27), els adverbis de grau i el seu lloc (B1 #28), la formació de paraules (B1 #29), so … that i such … that (B1 #30), every i each (B1 #31), la finalitat, la causa i la concessió (B1 #32), used to, be used to, get used to (B1 #33), el reforç del comparatiu, la proporció i the …, the … (B1 #35).

A continuació, el B2 #1: explicar una història llarga, on als tres temps del passat s'hi afegirà el Past Perfect Continuous. Després, al B2: el futur en el passat (B2 #2), el Future Perfect (B2 #3), el tercer tipus de condicionals (B2 #4) i la inversió (B2 #7).

Escriptura
Un text de 12–15 frases sobre el lloc on vas créixer. Explica com era (amb els antecedents en Past Perfect), què hi feies abans (used to, would), què ha canviat i quant (much, far, more and more), a què t'has acostumat allà on vius ara i què faràs quan hi tornis (el present darrere de when i as soon as). Almenys una frase amb although o despite i una altra amb una frase de relatiu explicativa.
