Trettio frågor om nivåns grammatik — en för varje lektion med ett nytt ämne —, en diktamen, en högläsning av en lång text och en skrivuppgift. Gränsen för att gå vidare till B2 är 80 % i grammatiken (24 av 30). Diktamen rättas ord för ord men räknas inte in i gränsen; högläsningen och skrivuppgiften ger inga poäng.

Om ett svar inte stämmer med facit, titta i avsnittet ”Det här har du lärt dig på B1” vilken lektion som tar upp ämnet, och repetera den.

Grammatik: trettio frågor

1–6. Ifyllning: tempus.

Högläsning

I grew up in a small fishing town on the north-east coast, where my grandfather had worked at the port all his life. By the time I was born, the port had closed, and most of the young people had left for the cities.

I've been living in Manchester for almost ten years now. I'm used to the noise and the traffic, and I've even got used to the rain — well, almost. When I was a student, I used to go back home every summer, and my grandmother would cook enormous meals and tell us stories about the old days.

Last spring I went back for the first time in years. The town was much quieter than I remembered, and many of the shops had been turned into holiday flats. Although it made me sad, I could see that the town was changing, not dying. A young couple, whose café had opened the year before, told me that more and more people were moving there to work from home.

If I had more time, I'd go back more often. The longer I stay away, the more I miss the sea. As soon as the children finish school this summer, we're going to spend a whole month there.

Passiv och återgivning. Passiv i alla tempus (B1 #13), have something done och get-passiv My bike got stolen (B1 #14), indirekt tal med tempusförskjutning (B1 #15), återgivningsverben advise, offer, suggest och det direkta rådet You'd better (B1 #16), indirekta frågor (B1 #19).

Meningen och samtalet. Nödvändiga och icke-nödvändiga relativsatser, whose (B1 #17, B1 #18), påhängsfrågor, ekofrågor, So do I (B1 #20), verb som byter betydelse: stop, remember, try (B1 #21), want somebody to, make och let (B1 #22), partikelverb av fyra typer (B1 #34).

Ord och bindeord. Paren both … and, either … or (B1 #6), hardly (B1 #12), artiklarna som system och another, the other, others (B1 #23), no longer (B1 #24), ord för en andel: most, none, a few (B1 #25), adjektivens ordning och -ed mot -ing (B1 #26), ord + preposition: verb, substantiv, adjektiv (B1 #27), gradadverb och deras plats (B1 #28), ordbildning (B1 #29), so … that och such … that (B1 #30), every och each (B1 #31), avsikt, orsak och medgivande (B1 #32), used to, be used to, get used to (B1 #33), förstärkt komparation, antal gånger och the …, the … (B1 #35).

En text på 12–15 meningar om platsen där du växte upp. Berätta hur den var (med en förhistoria i Past Perfect), vad du brukade göra där (used to, would), vad som har förändrats och hur mycket (much, far, more and more), vad du har vant dig vid där du bor nu och vad du ska göra när du kommer tillbaka dit (presens efter when och as soon as). Minst en mening med although eller despite och en med en icke-nödvändig relativsats.
