Tai Past Continuous (A2 #2) dvynys: ten fonas praeityje (At ten I was flying), čia — fonas ateityje (At ten I'll be flying).

Forma: will be + veiksmažodis su -ing. will ir be visiems asmenims vienodi, keičiasi tik pagrindinis veiksmažodis.

teiginys I'll be working all day tomorrow.
neiginys She won't be coming to the meeting. (won't = will not)
klausimas Will you be using the car tonight?
trumpasis atsakymas Yes, I will. / No, I won't.

Trumpajame atsakyme be ir -ing nekartojami: tik will arba won't. Prieveiksmiai probably, still, definitely stovi tarp will ir be: I'll probably be working late. Neiginyje probably pereina į priekį, prieš won't: I probably won't be working on Friday.

Kada vartojama.

Pirmas atvejis — procesas įvardytu ateities momentu. Momentas paprastai pasakomas tiesiai: at ten tomorrow, this time tomorrow („rytoj tuo pačiu metu“), this time next week, all day on Saturday. Don't call at six — I'll be driving. Skambutis pataikys į kelionės vidurį: būsiu prie vairo. Procesas gali užimti ir visą atkarpą: I'll be working all day on Saturday — visas šeštadienis atiteks darbui.

Antras — mandagus klausimas apie planus: Will you be using the printer this afternoon? Todėl darbe, viešbutyje, parduotuvėje apie planus klausiama tęstine forma: Will you be paying by card? O jūs, sužinoję jo planus, galite paprašyti, jei jis neprieštarauja: Will you be using the car tonight? If not, could I borrow it?

Toks pat atspalvis ir neiginyje. I won't come to the meeting — „neateisiu“, panašu į atsisakymą: nenoriu. I won't be coming to the meeting — ramus pranešimas: taip susiklosto reikalai.

Palyginkite su paprastuoju will.

At eight we'll have dinner. Aštuntą sėsime vakarieniauti: vakarienė prasidės aštuntą.
At eight we'll be having dinner. Aštuntą vakarieniausime: vakarienė jau bus prasidėjusi.

Ir su Present Continuous. I'm meeting Anna at six — susitarimas (B1 #5): susitikimas paskirtas. At half past six I'll be sitting in a café with Anna — to momento vaizdas: ką aš veiksiu. Dažnai jie stovi greta: pirma planas, paskui vaizdas.

Būsenos veiksmažodžiai (B1 #4) tęstiniame būsimajame nevartojami. Su know, like, want, have reikšme „turėti“ — paprastasis will: This time next year I'll know much more.

Dar pavyzdžių:

This time tomorrow I'll be sitting in an exam. Rytoj tuo pačiu metu sėdėsiu egzamine.
We'll be living in Leeds this time next year. Po metų jau gyvensime Lidse.
Will you be staying for dinner? Liksite vakarienės? — mandagiai, apie planus
I won't be working on Friday. Penktadienį nedirbu.

Taip nesakoma. ✗ Will you be come tomorrow? → ✓ Will you be coming tomorrow?

Pasitikrinkite. Kaip pasakyti „rytoj devintą važiuosiu į darbą“ (būsiu kelyje)? Kuo skiriasi I won't come ir I won't be coming? Kodėl negalima sakyti I'll be knowing the results tomorrow?

rodyti atsakymus
At nine tomorrow I'll be driving to work (arba travelling to work); pirmasis skamba kaip atsisakymas, antrasis — kaip ramus pranešimas apie tai, kaip susiklostys reikalai; know — būsenos veiksmažodis, reikia I'll know the results tomorrow.

Lietuvių kalbos gimtakalbių klaidos

parašyta jūsų kalbai
1

Paprastasis will apie procesą

Don't call at six — I'll drive angliškai skamba kaip sprendimas: „gerai, vairuosiu aš“. Norint pasakyti, kad šeštą būsite prie vairo, reikia ✓ Don't call at six — I'll be driving. Lietuvių būsimasis laikas turi vieną formą („vairuosiu“), ir ji tinka ir sprendimui, ir procesui, todėl atrodo, kad užtenka will. Angliškai procesą ateities momentu perteikia tik will be + -ing.

2

Klausimas apie planus kaip prašymas

Will you use the car tonight? Neutralus klausimas — ✓ Will you be using the car tonight? Lietuviškai „ar vakare imsi automobilį?“ skamba neutraliai, todėl angliškos paprastosios formos atspalvio lengva neišgirsti. Tas pats su neiginiu: I won't come gali nuskambėti kaip „nenoriu ateiti“, o ✓ I won't be coming — kaip ramus pranešimas.

3

will su lietuvišku „v“

Lietuvių kalboje nėra garso /w/, todėl will, we'll, won't dažnai ištariami „vil“, „vyl“, „vont“. Tarkite ✓ /w/: lūpos apvalios ir nesiliečia su dantimis. Teiginyje will dar ir susitraukia: I'll be working — /aɪl bi/, ne „ai vil bi“.

Tarimas

3 min

'll be tariama vienu atodūsiu: /l bi/. I'll be working /aɪl bi ˈwɜːkɪŋ/.

Klausime Will you be…? pirmieji trys žodžiai nekirčiuoti: /wɪl jə bi/. Will you be using the car?

won't be — /wəʊnt bi/: /t/ prieš /b/ beveik negirdimas, bet balsis lieka ilgas /əʊ/. Būtent juo won't skiriasi nuo want (B1 #5).

Are you around next week? I need to ask you a favour.

Not really, I'm afraid. I'll be travelling most of the week. I'm flying to Edinburgh on Monday for a conference.

Oh. Will you be using your car next week?

No, it'll be sitting in the garage all week. I'll be taking the train to the airport. Do you want to borrow it?

That would be amazing. My parents are visiting, and I'd like to take them to the coast.

Of course. Just don't phone me on Tuesday morning — I'll be giving my talk at ten.

Good luck! Will you be staying in a hotel?

Yes, near the conference centre. In the evenings I'll probably be working on my slides, but on Thursday we're having dinner in the castle.

Sounds lovely. And how do I get the car keys?

My sister has a spare set. Call her this evening, but not at seven — she'll be swimming then.

And what time does your flight land on Friday?

At six. So at eight I'll be sitting at home with a takeaway, and you'll be telling me all about the coast.
