Tā ir Past Continuous dvīne (A2 #2): tur fons pagātnē (At ten I was flying), te — fons nākotnē (At ten I'll be flying).

Forma: will be + darbības vārds ar -ing. will un be visām personām ir vienādi, mainās tikai nozīmes darbības vārds.

apgalvojums I'll be working all day tomorrow.
noliegums She won't be coming to the meeting. (won't = will not)
jautājums Will you be using the car tonight?
īsā atbilde Yes, I will. / No, I won't.

Īsajā atbildē be un -ing neatkārto: tikai will vai won't. Apstākļa vārdi probably, still, definitely stāv starp will un be: I'll probably be working late. Noliegumā probably pāriet uz priekšu, pirms won't: I probably won't be working on Friday.

Kad lieto.

Pirmais gadījums — process nosauktā nākotnes brīdī. Brīdi parasti nosauc tieši: at ten tomorrow, this time tomorrow („rīt šajā pašā laikā”), this time next week, all day on Saturday. Don't call at six — I'll be driving. Zvans pienāks brauciena vidū: es būšu pie stūres. Process var aizņemt arī visu posmu: I'll be working all day on Saturday — visa sestdiena aizies darbā.

Otrais — pieklājīgs jautājums par plāniem: Will you be using the printer this afternoon? Tāpēc darbā, viesnīcā, veikalā par plāniem jautā ar ilgstošo formu: Will you be paying by card? Bet jūs, uzzinājuši viņa plānus, varat palūgt, ja viņš nav pret: Will you be using the car tonight? If not, could I borrow it?

Tāda pati nokrāsa ir noliegumam. I won't come to the meeting — „neatnākšu”, līdzīgi atteikumam: negribu. I won't be coming to the meeting — mierīgs paziņojums: tā sanāk.

Salīdziniet ar vienkāršo will.

At eight we'll have dinner. Astoņos sēdīsimies vakariņās: vakariņas sāksies astoņos.
At eight we'll be having dinner. Astoņos būsim pie vakariņu galda: vakariņas jau ritēs.

Un ar Present Continuous. I'm meeting Anna at six — vienošanās (B1 #5): tikšanās norunāta. At half past six I'll be sitting in a café with Anna — tā brīža aina: ko es darīšu. Bieži tos liek blakus: vispirms plāns, tad aina.

Stāvokļa darbības vārdus (B1 #4) ilgstošajā nākotnē nelieto. Ar know, like, want, have nozīmē „piederēt” — vienkāršais will: This time next year I'll know much more.

Vēl piemēri:

This time tomorrow I'll be sitting in an exam. Rīt šajā laikā es sēdēšu eksāmenā.
We'll be living in Leeds this time next year. Pēc gada mēs jau dzīvosim Līdsā.
Will you be staying for dinner? Vai paliksiet vakariņās? — pieklājīgi, par plāniem
I won't be working on Friday. Piektdien es nestrādāju.

Tā nesaka. ✗ Will you be come tomorrow? → ✓ Will you be coming tomorrow?

Ar ko atšķiras I won't come un I won't be coming? Kāpēc nevar teikt I'll be knowing the results tomorrow?

rādīt atbildes
At nine tomorrow I'll be driving to work (vai travelling to work); pirmais skan kā atteikums, otrais — kā mierīgs paziņojums par to, kā sanāk; know ir stāvokļa darbības vārds, vajag I'll know the results tomorrow.

Latviešu valodas runātāju kļūdas

pielāgots tavai valodai
1

Vienkāršais will par procesu

Don't call at six — I'll drive angliski skan kā lēmums: „labi, vadīšu es”. Lai pateiktu „sešos es būšu pie stūres”, vajag ✓ Don't call at six — I'll be driving. Angliski procesu nākotnes brīdī izsaka tikai will be + -ing.

2

Pazudušais be

✗ I'll flying to London at ten

✓ I'll be flying to London at ten

Tā pati kļūda kā going to bez be (A1 #32) un reading bez was (A2 #2).

3

Stāvokļa darbības vārds ar -ing

✗ This time next week I'll be knowing my results

✓ This time next week I'll know my results

Latviski „zināšu” un „strādāšu” veidojas vienādi, un dalījuma darbības un stāvokļa vārdos nav (B1 #4). Bet know, like, want, believe apraksta lietu stāvokli, nevis nodarbošanos, un ar -ing netiek lietoti nevienā laikā.

4

Jautājums par plāniem kā lūgums

Will you use the car tonight? nav kļūda, bet skan tā, it kā jūs paši gribētu mašīnu vai būtu neapmierināti. Neitrāls jautājums — ✓ Will you be using the car tonight? Latviski „vai tu vakarā ņemsi mašīnu?” skan pilnīgi neitrāli, tāpēc angļu vienkāršās formas nokrāsu viegli nepamanīt. Tas pats ar noliegumu: I won't come var izklausīties kā „negribu nākt”, bet ✓ I won't be coming — kā mierīgs paziņojums.

Izruna

3 min

'll be izrunā vienā elpas vilcienā: /l bi/. I'll be working /aɪl bi ˈwɜːkɪŋ/. I'll — viena zilbe ar tumšo /l/ beigās, nevis „ai vil”. Uzsvars krīt uz nozīmes darbības vārdu.

Jautājumā Will you be…? pirmie trīs vārdi ir neuzsvērti: /wɪl jə bi/. Will you be using the car?

won't be — /wəʊnt bi/: /t/ pirms /b/ gandrīz nav dzirdams, bet divskanis /əʊ/ saglabājas. Tieši ar to won't atšķiras no want (B1 #5).

Are you around next week? I need to ask you a favour.

Not really, I'm afraid. I'll be travelling most of the week. I'm flying to Edinburgh on Monday for a conference.

Oh. Will you be using your car next week?

No, it'll be sitting in the garage all week. I'll be taking the train to the airport. Do you want to borrow it?

That would be amazing. My parents are visiting, and I'd like to take them to the coast.

Of course. Just don't phone me on Tuesday morning — I'll be giving my talk at ten.

Good luck! Will you be staying in a hotel?

Yes, near the conference centre. In the evenings I'll probably be working on my slides, but on Thursday we're having dinner in the castle.

Sounds lovely. And how do I get the car keys?

My sister has a spare set. Call her this evening, but not at seven — she'll be swimming then.

And what time does your flight land on Friday?

At six. So at eight I'll be sitting at home with a takeaway, and you'll be telling me all about the coast.
