Erros de quem fala português do Brasil

escrito para o seu idioma
1

“Fazer” sempre com o mesmo verbo

“Fazer a lição de casa”, “fazer as compras”, “fazer uma ligação” → ✗ make homework, ✗ make the shopping, ✗ do a call → ✓ do homework, do the shopping, make a call; e um erro é sempre ✓ make a mistake, nunca ✗ do a mistake. O português diz “fazer” para quase tudo; o inglês divide entre make e do pela lista.

2

O pronome depois do phrasal verb

“Liga ele”, “desliga ela” → ✗ Turn on it → ✓ Turn it on. Em português o pronome vem depois do verbo; em inglês ele vai no meio, entre o verbo e a palavrinha.

3

Os dois “desligar”

Desligar a ligação é ✓ hang up (I hung up when the call finished), e não turn off: turn off the phone é desligar o próprio aparelho.

4

“Ficar” + adjetivo

“Fico cansado à noite” → ✗ I stay tired in the evening → ✓ I get tired in the evening. “Ficar” no sentido de “passar a estar” é get; stay é ficar num lugar.

Pronúncia

3 min

O acento no phrasal verb cai na SEGUNDA parte: turn on, log in, hang up, pick up.

Isso o distingue de um verbo comum com preposição: look at the picture — o acento cai na palavra principal, e não na preposição.
