Grammatica

5 min

The man who works here is my brother. L'uomo che lavora qui è mio fratello.
The hotel which we booked was cheap. L'albergo che abbiamo prenotato era economico.
The film that I saw yesterday was good.

Quale pronome scegliere:

per che cosa
who persone
which cose e animali

The film that I saw = The film I saw dopo that viene I — si può togliere
The man who works here dopo who viene subito il verbo — non si può togliere

E allora il soggetto è lui — un secondo soggetto non serve: ✗ The man who he works here.

Errori tipici degli italofoni

adattato alla tua lingua
1

which per le persone

«L'uomo che lavora qui» → ✗ The man which works here → ✓ The man who works here o that. L'italiano ha un solo «che» per tutto; l'inglese sceglie: who per le persone, which per le cose, that per tutte e due.

2

Il soggetto che manca

«Il film che ho visto ieri» → ✗ The film that saw yesterday → ✓ The film that I saw yesterday o The film I saw yesterday.

3

Il soggetto dopo il verbo

«Il libro che mi ha dato Anna» → ✗ The book which gave me Anna → ✓ The book which Anna gave me.

The film I saw yesterday was very good. /ðə ˈfɪlm aɪ ˈsɔː ˈjestədeɪ/ — senza pausa dopo film
