It was so cold that we stayed at home. so + 형용사
He spoke so quickly that I couldn't follow. so + 부사
It was such a cold day that we stayed at home. such a + 형용사 + 명사
They were such nice people that we stayed all evening. such + 복수
We had such bad weather that we came home early. such + 셀 수 없는 명사

He's such a kind person입니다.

셀 수 있는 단수 명사와 함께 쓸 때 a는 such 뒤에 옵니다: such a nice day, such an interesting book. 복수와 셀 수 없는 명사 앞에는 관사가 없습니다: such nice people, such good news, such bad weather.

양을 나타내는 말과 so. much, many, few, little 앞에는 뒤에 명사가 오더라도 언제나 so를 씁니다: There were so many people that we couldn't get in. I had so little time that I took a taxi. 구어에서는 so many, so much 대신 such a lot of도 씁니다: There were such a lot of people…

It was so cold we stayed in. It was such a good film I watched it twice.

Why are you so tired? I've never seen such a beautiful garden.

It was SO cold…, It was SUCH a long day….

결과 없이 — 감탄. so와 such는 that 없이 혼자서도 강조합니다: It's so cold today! She's such a nice person! very보다 감정이 실립니다: very는 알리고, so와 such는 감탄합니다.

비교해 보십시오 — too(A1 18과), enough(A2 13과)와:

It was so cold that we didn't go out.
It was too cold to go out. …
It wasn't warm enough to go out. …

She speaks such good English that people think she's British.
I was so tired that I fell asleep on the train.

✗ It was so cold weather → ✓ It was such cold weather / The weather was so cold. ✗ a such nice day → ✓ such a nice day. ✗ so much people → ✓ so many people.

It was ___ a good idea에는 so와 such 중 무엇이 들어갑니까? It was a such boring film에서 무엇이 틀렸습니까?
