语法

指路用的是没有主语的动词句——这就是祈使句。英语的祈使句直接用动词原形：

Go straight on. 一直往前走。
Turn left at the corner. 在拐角处向左转。
Take the second street on the right. 走右手边第二条街。
Cross the street. 过马路。

否定——don't + 动词：Don't turn right、Don't cross here。就是第8课的那个 don't，只是前面没有主语。

表示移动方向的介词：

to 到，去：go to the station
into 进入……里面：go into the shop
across 从一边到另一边，穿过：walk across the park
along 沿着：go along this street
past 从……旁边经过：walk past the bank

转弯时多加介词。

✗ Turn to left

✓ Turn left

。汉语说“向左转”“往左拐”，里面有“向”“往”，学习者就想在 turn 后面加上 to。英语的 left、right 直接跟在 turn 后面。

多加主语。

✗ You go straight（用来指路）→ ✓ Go straight。汉语指路常说“你一直往前走，然后……”，句首带着“你”。英语加上 you 就不再是指路，而是在陈述对方的情况。

go 和 walk 用混

——go 什么时候都能用，walk 则特别说明是步行。汉语一个“走”字既可以是“去”，也可以是“步行”，所以两个词容易互换。

用 How to…? 问路。

✗ Excuse me, how to go to the station?

✓ Excuse me, how do I get to the station?

。汉语“请问，怎么去火车站？”没有主语，也没有助动词，学习者就直接译成 how to go。英语的问句要有完整的语序：how do I get to…?。

指路时，重音落在表示意思的词上，而不是落在动词上：

Turn left at the corner. Take the second street on the right.

语调平稳、下降——指路不是提问。句末声音一上扬，指路就变成了没有把握的猜测。
