Present Perfect Past Simple
apgalvojums I've lost my keys. I lost my keys.
noliegums She hasn't called. She didn't call.
jautājums Have you seen it? Did you see it?

Galvenā atšķirība — no kurienes skatās runātājs.

Rezultāts redzams tagad: I've lost my keys — atslēgu nav, es nevaru iekļūt. Salīdziniet: I lost my keys last week, but I found them — epizode ir noslēgta, un rezultāta nav.

Jaunums.

Have you heard? They've closed the bridge. ← jaunums

Really? When did they close it? ← detaļas

On Monday. They found a crack in it.

Periods vēl nav beidzies: I've had three coffees today. Ja periods ir beidzies, vajag Past Simple: I had three coffees yesterday. Tāpat dalās this morning: desmitos no rīta — I've drunk two coffees this morning, vakarā — I drank two coffees this morning.

She has written four novels. Par to, kura dzīve ir beigusies, — Past Simple: Dickens wrote fifteen novels.

Laika norādes palīdz, bet neizšķir visu:

parasti ar Present Perfect tikai ar Past Simple
just, already, yet, ever, so far, lately, since Monday yesterday, ago, last week, in May, when I was a child, the other day

never, recently, today, this week sastopami ar abiem laikiem, un izšķir tas pats: vai periods ir beidzies. I've never been to Wales — dzīve turpinās; I never saw him again — stāsts izstāstīts līdz galam.

Britu un amerikāņu variants. Amerikāņu angļu valodā ar just, already, yet bieži liek Past Simple: Did you eat yet?, I just saw him. Tā nav kļūda, bet britu variantā, kuru mēs mācāmies, saka Have you eaten yet? un I've just seen him.

Salīdziniet:

I've lost my keys. Problēma tagad: atslēgu nav.
I lost my keys. Stāsts: kādreiz pazaudēju, tūlīt pastāstīšu, kā tas bija.

Kā saprast sarunbiedra izvēli. Darbības vārda laiks pasaka priekšā, ko cilvēks no jums gaida. Ja viņš teica I've lost my keys, viņš ziņo par problēmu un, visticamāk, gaida palīdzību vai līdzjūtību. Ja teica I lost my keys, viņš sāk stāstu, un tālāk būs detaļas. Jautājums Have you seen Tom? nozīmē „viņš man vajadzīgs tagad”, bet Did you see Tom? — jautājums par konkrētu gadījumu, piemēram, par vakardienas ballīti.

Tā nesaka. ✗ I've been in London last year → ✓ I was in London last year. last year noslēdz periodu, un perfekts ar to nav iespējams, pat ja brauciens ir jūsu pieredze. Pieredzei bez laika — I've been to London (A2 #4).

Pārbaudiet sevi. Jūs meklējat brilles un sakāt draugam — I lost my glasses vai I've lost my glasses? Kāpēc jautājumā When did you buy it? nevar būt perfekts? Ir vakars, jūs stāstāt par šodienas rītu: I've had vai I had two coffees this morning?

rādīt atbildes
I've lost my glasses — rezultāts tagad, briļļu nav (I lost tā skan amerikāņu variantā); when jautā par laiku, bet laiks prasa Past Simple; I had — rīts jau ir beidzies.

Latviešu valodas runātāju kļūdas

pielāgots tavai valodai
1

Perfekts ar ago

✗ I've moved here two years ago

✓ I moved here two years ago

2

When ar perfektu

✗ When have they closed the bridge?

✓ When did they close the bridge?

Jaunums izskanēja perfektā (They've closed the bridge), un latviski arī jautājumā var palikt saliktā tagadne („Kad viņi to ir slēguši?”).

3

Perfekts par to, kura dzīve ir beigusies

✗ Dickens has written fifteen novels

✓ Dickens wrote fifteen novels

4

Jaunums vienkāršajā pagātnē

I lost my wallet! nav kļūda: tā saka arī Britānijā, un Amerikā tas ir parastais variants. Bet brits, kuram maka nav tieši tagad, drīzāk teiks ✓ I've lost my wallet! Latviski šādu jaunumu parasti paziņo vienkāršajā pagātnē („Pazaudēju maku!”), tāpēc izvēle jāizdara apzināti.

Izruna

3 min

Visa atšķirība runā ir īsa neuzsvērta skaņa: /v/ vārdā I've, /z/ vai /s/ vārdos she's, it's.

I've lost it. /aɪv ˈlɒst ɪt/
I lost it. /aɪ ˈlɒst ɪt/

's — tas ir has vai is? Skatieties uz nākamo vārdu. She's broken her arm — aiz 's trešā forma, tātad has. She's tired — īpašības vārds, tātad is. What's happened? /wɒts ˈhæpənd/ — has.

You look worried. What's happened?

I've lost my wallet. I've looked everywhere — in my bag, in my coat, in the car — and I can't find it.

Oh no. When did you last have it?

This morning. I paid for a coffee at the station at about half past eight. Then I went to the library and spent two hours there.

Did you take it out in the library?

I don't think so. I bought a sandwich on the way back, but I paid with my phone.

Have you called the library?

Not yet. I've only just got back.

Well, call them now. And have you cancelled your bank card?

Yes, I've already done that. I did it on the bus.

Good. Has anyone tried to use it?

No, nothing has happened so far. I checked the app ten minutes ago.

Then don't panic. Someone has probably found it already.
