Forma — o reamintire:

Present Perfect Past Simple
afirmație I've lost my keys. I lost my keys.
negație She hasn't called. She didn't call.
întrebare Have you seen it? Did you see it?

Compară: I lost my keys last week, but I found them — episodul e închis, iar rezultat nu există.

Vestea.

Have you heard? They've closed the bridge. ← vestea

Really? When did they close it? ← detaliile

On Monday. They found a crack in it.

Perioada nu s-a încheiat încă: I've had three coffees today. Dacă perioada s-a încheiat, e nevoie de Past Simple: I had three coffees yesterday. La fel se împarte this morning: la zece dimineața — I've drunk two coffees this morning, seara — I drank two coffees this morning.

She has written four novels. Despre cineva a cărui viață s-a încheiat — Past Simple: Dickens wrote fifteen novels.

just, already, yet, ever, so far, lately, since Monday yesterday, ago, last week, in May, when I was a child, the other day

never, recently, today, this week apar cu ambele timpuri, și hotărăște același lucru: s-a încheiat perioada? I've never been to Wales — viața continuă; I never saw him again — povestea e spusă până la capăt.

Britanic și american. În engleza americană cu just, already, yet se pune des Past Simple: Did you eat yet?, I just saw him. Nu e o greșeală, dar în varianta britanică, pe care o învățăm, se spune Have you eaten yet? și I've just seen him.

Compară:

I've lost my keys. Problema e acum: cheile nu sunt.
I lost my keys. O poveste: le-am pierdut cândva, acum îți spun cum a fost.

A spus I've lost my keys — anunță o problemă și, cel mai probabil, așteaptă ajutor sau compasiune. A spus I lost my keys — începe o poveste, și vor urma detaliile. Întrebarea Have you seen Tom? înseamnă „am nevoie de el acum”, iar Did you see Tom?

✗ I've been in London last year → ✓ I was in London last year. last year închide perioada, iar perfectul cu el e imposibil, chiar dacă excursia ține de experiența ta. Pentru experiența fără timp — I've been to London (A2 #4).

Verifică-te. Îți cauți ochelarii și îi spui unui prieten — I lost my glasses sau I've lost my glasses? De ce în întrebarea When did you buy it? nu poate sta perfectul? E seară, povestești despre dimineața de azi: I've had sau I had two coffees this morning?

arată răspunsurile
I've lost my glasses — rezultatul e acum, ochelarii nu sunt (I lost sună așa în varianta americană); when întreabă de timp, iar timpul cere Past Simple; I had — dimineața s-a încheiat.

Greșelile vorbitorilor de limba română

adaptat pentru limba ta
1

Perfectul compus tradus cu have lângă un moment

„M-am mutat aici acum doi ani”, „Ai văzut meciul ieri?” → ✗ I've moved here two years ago, ✗ Have you seen the match yesterday? → ✓ I moved here two years ago, Did you see the match yesterday? Perfectul compus („a avea” + participiu) seamănă cu have + forma a treia, dar acoperă orice trecut. ago, yesterday, in June numesc un punct din trecut, iar el e mai tare decât rezultatul.

2

When cu perfectul

„Când au închis podul?” → ✗ When have they closed the bridge? → ✓ When did they close the bridge?

3

Past Simple cu since

„Nu l-am văzut de luni” → ✗ I didn't see him since Monday → ✓ I haven't seen him since Monday. Cine a învățat că „am văzut” = I saw traduce așa și aici.

4

I've lost my wallet!

3 min

Toată diferența în vorbire — un sunet scurt și neaccentuat: /v/ în I've, /z/ sau /s/ în she's, it's.

I've lost it. /aɪv ˈlɒst ɪt/
I lost it. /aɪ ˈlɒst ɪt/

's — e has sau is? Uită-te la cuvântul următor. She's broken her arm — după 's vine forma a treia, deci has. She's tired — un adjectiv, deci is. What's happened? /wɒts ˈhæpənd/ — has.

Text

You look worried. What's happened?

I've lost my wallet. I've looked everywhere — in my bag, in my coat, in the car — and I can't find it.

Oh no. When did you last have it?

This morning. I paid for a coffee at the station at about half past eight. Then I went to the library and spent two hours there.

Did you take it out in the library?

I don't think so. I bought a sandwich on the way back, but I paid with my phone.

Have you called the library?

Not yet. I've only just got back.

Well, call them now. And have you cancelled your bank card?

Yes, I've already done that. I did it on the bus.

Good. Has anyone tried to use it?

No, nothing has happened so far. I checked the app ten minutes ago.

Then don't panic. Someone has probably found it already.
