A2 #19 ciešamā kārta bija gatavu izteicienu komplekts: is included, was built, I was born. Tagad tā kļūst par sistēmu. Jūs varēsiet ielikt ciešamajā kārtā jebkuru laiku, ko zināt, un aprakstīt veselu procesu — kā cep maizi, kā pārbauda pieteikumus, ko izdarīja ar māju —, ne reizi nenosaucot to, kurš strādāja.

Forma: be vajadzīgajā laikā + darbības vārda trešā forma. Trešā forma nemainās nekad, laiku nes tikai be. Tāpēc ciešamo kārtu veido divos soļos: vispirms izlemiet, kāds laiks vajadzīgs, tad ielieciet šajā laikā be un pievienojiet trešo formu.

laiks ciešamā kārta latviski
Present Simple Coffee is grown in Brazil. Kafiju audzē Brazīlijā.
Present Continuous The road is being repaired. Ceļu pašlaik remontē.
Past Simple The bridge was built in 1890. Tiltu uzcēla 1890. gadā.
Past Continuous The car was being washed when I arrived. Kad es atbraucu, mašīnu tieši mazgāja.
Present Perfect Our flight has been cancelled. Mūsu reiss ir atcelts.
Past Perfect All the tickets had been sold. Visas biļetes jau bija izpārdotas.
will The results will be published on Friday. Rezultātus publicēs piektdien.
going to The old cinema is going to be sold. Veco kinoteātri pārdos.
modālais darbības vārds The form must be signed. Veidlapa ir jāparaksta.

Visbiežāk jauc divus vārdus: being stāv ilgstošajos laikos (is being repaired — tiek remontēts tieši tagad), been — perfektā (has been repaired — jau ir saremontēts).

Noliegumu un jautājumu veido pēc tā laika likumiem, kurā stāv be. not nostājas pēc pirmā palīgdarbības vārda, bet jautājumā pirmais palīgdarbības vārds iznāk priekšā. do ciešamajā kārtā nav vajadzīgs: tā darbu dara be.

noliegums The room isn't cleaned on Sundays.
jautājums Is the room cleaned every day?
jautājums ar jautājuma vārdu When was the bridge built?
perfekts Has the road been repaired yet? — No, it hasn't.

Darītājs nav zināms: My bike was stolen last night. Kurš nozaga — neviens nezina.

Darītājs nav svarīgs vai ir tāpat skaidrs: The office is cleaned every evening. He was arrested at the airport. Skaidrs, ka arestēja policija.

Apraksta procesu vai noteikumu: First the flour is weighed, then it is mixed with water. Applications are checked within two weeks. Svarīgi ir soļi, nevis cilvēki.

by — kurš izdarīja. Darītāju nosauc ar by tikai tad, ja tas ir svarīgs vai jauns klausītājam: This bridge was designed by a famous engineer. Lielākajā daļā ciešamās kārtas teikumu by nav vispār.

Ciešamajā kārtā par teikuma priekšmetu parasti kļūst cilvēks: They gave me a form → I was given a form. Variants A form was given to me arī ir pareizs, bet skan grāmatnieciskāk.

Ja darbības vārdam papildinātāja nav, apgriezt nav ko. happen, arrive, die, fall, appear neko ne ar ko nedara, un ciešamās kārtas tiem nav: What happened?, nevis ✗ What was happened? Pārbaude ir vienkārša: ja var pajautāt „ko?” — ko uzcēla, ko arestēja, — ciešamā kārta ir iespējama. Ja nevar — nav.

Divi darbības vārdu pāri šo likumu parāda īpaši skaidri. Katrā pārī viens darbības vārds darbojas pats, otrs — ar kaut ko. Ciešamā kārta ir tikai otrajam.

nozīme darbība ciešamā kārta
lie — lay — lain gulēt I lay in bed until ten. nav
lay — laid — laid likt, nolikt She laid the papers on the desk. The papers were laid on the desk.
rise — rose — risen celties (pats) Prices have risen again. nav
raise — raised — raised celt, paaugstināt (kaut ko) The shop has raised its prices. Prices have been raised.

Lamatas ir tajā, ka lay ir gan „likt”, gan „gulēt” pagātne: I lay in bed — „es gulēju”. „Gulēt” -ing forma ir lying, „likt” — laying.

Salīdziniet. Viena un tā pati ziņa par cenām skan dažādi:

Prices rose last year. Cenas pieauga — pašas, tirgus dēļ.
Prices were raised last year.

Breakfast is served from seven to ten. Brokastis pasniedz no septiņiem līdz desmitiem.
Mobile phones must be switched off. Mobilie telefoni ir jāizslēdz.
The museum is visited by two million people a year. Muzeju gadā apmeklē divi miljoni cilvēku.
I was given a map at the entrance. Man pie ieejas iedeva karti.
The baby was laid gently in the cot. Mazuli uzmanīgi ielika gultiņā.

Tā nesaka. ✗ He rose his hand → ✓ He raised his hand. Roku paceļ, darbības vārdam ir papildinātājs — tātad raise.

Pārbaudiet sevi. Kā pateikt ciešamajā kārtā They are repairing the road? Kāpēc nedrīkst Prices were risen, un kā pateikt pareizi? „Viņa apgūlās uz dīvāna” — She lay down vai She laid down?

rādīt atbildes
The road is being repaired; rise nav papildinātāja, un ciešamās kārtas tam nav: Prices rose, bet ja cenas kāds paaugstināja — Prices were raised; She lay down on the sofa — lay šeit ir lie pagātne.

Latviešu valodas runātāju kļūdas

pielāgots tavai valodai
1

Trešā forma bez be

✗ The bridge built in 1890

✗ The flour weighed and mixed with water

✓ The bridge was built in 1890

The flour is weighed and mixed with water. Angliski trešā forma viena teikumu neveido: laiku nes be, un bez tā ciešamās kārtas nav.

2

Latviešu „ir” un „tiek” nav angļu laiki

✗ The house is built in 1890

✓ The house was built in 1890

Un otrādi: „ceļš tiek remontēts” — darbs notiek tagad — ir The road is being repaired; The road is repaired nozīmē, ka tas jau ir kārtībā.

3

Teikums bez teikuma priekšmeta

✗ In this factory make cars → ✓ Cars are made in this factory. ✗ Here build a new school → ✓ A new school is being built here. „Šajā rūpnīcā ražo mašīnas” ir normāls latviešu teikums, darītājs tajā nav vajadzīgs. Angļu valodai vajag teikuma priekšmetu, un to dod ciešamā kārta. Sarunā var arī They make cars in this factory — ar they, aiz kura nestāv neviens konkrēts.

4

Ciešamā kārta darbības vārdam bez papildinātāja

✗ What was happened?

✗ Prices were risen

✗ He was died in 1950

✓ What happened?

Prices rose, He died in 1950.

Izruna

4 min

Saitiņa ir neuzsvērta, uzsvars — uz trešās formas. It was built in 1890 — /ɪt wəz ˈbɪlt/, The road has been closed — /həz bɪn ˈkləʊzd/. was, has, been saplūst īsā neuzsvērtā zilbē, un, klausoties, jābalstās uz nozīmes darbības vārdu.

being un been atšķiras ar zilbju skaitu. being /ˈbiːɪŋ/ — divas zilbes, been /biːn/, ātrā runā /bɪn/ — viena. is being repaired /ɪz ˈbiːɪŋ rɪˈpeəd/ pret has been repaired /həz bɪn rɪˈpeəd/.

lie, lay, laid atšķiras ar patskani: lie /laɪ/ — kā my; lay /leɪ/ — kā day; laid /leɪd/ — tā pati skaņa ar /d/ beigās.

rise un raise beidzas ar /z/, nevis ar /s/: rise /raɪz/, rose /rəʊz/, risen /ˈrɪzn/; raise /reɪz/, raised /reɪzd/.

Teksts

Our bakery is in a small market town in Yorkshire. It has been run by the same family since 1952, and every loaf is still made by hand. Customers often ask how it is done, so here is the whole process.

The work starts at four in the morning. First, the flour is weighed and mixed with water, salt and yeast. The dough is then covered with a cloth and left in a warm place, and over the next two hours it slowly rises. While it is rising, the ovens are heated. Next, the dough is cut into pieces, and each piece is shaped by hand. The loaves are laid on long wooden trays and baked for about forty minutes. Then they are left by an open window to cool.

By seven o'clock the first bread has been delivered to three local cafés, and at eight the shop is opened.

This week the kitchen is being repainted, so fewer loaves are being baked than usual. And there is one more piece of news. Last year the price of flour rose sharply, so our prices had to be raised by ten pence a loaf. We were worried, but so far nobody has complained.

Paraugs

The library in our town was built in 1905. It was badly damaged in a fire in the sixties, and the roof had to be replaced. Since then it has been repaired twice. At the moment the reading room is being painted, so it is closed to visitors. It will be opened again next month. The building is visited by hundreds of people every week.
