18 minLa A2 #27 ai învățat regula propozițiilor condiționale: după if despre viitor se pune prezentul — If it rains, I'll stay at home, nu ✗ If it will rain. Viitorul e deja spus în partea principală (I'll stay), iar partea cu if spune doar în ce condiție se va întâmpla.
Exact la fel funcționează conjuncțiile de timp. Partea cu when, as soon as, until, before, after, by the time spune în ce moment se va întâmpla ceva, și viitor în ea nu e, deși în română el poate sta acolo: „te voi suna când voi ajunge” — I'll call you when I get there.
Forma. În partea principală — will, going to, imperativul sau un verb modal. În partea cu conjuncția — Present Simple.
| conjuncția | sensul | exemplu |
|---|---|---|
| when | când | I'll call you when I get home. |
| as soon as | imediat ce, de îndată ce | We'll start as soon as everyone arrives. |
| once | imediat ce, odată ce | Once you pay, you'll get an email with the tickets. |
| until / till | până (când) | Wait here until I come back. |
| before | înainte să, înainte de a | Switch off the lights before you leave. |
| after | după ce | I'll ring you after the meeting finishes. |
| while | în timp ce, cât timp | I'll make dinner while you're having a shower. |
| by the time | până când, până să | By the time you arrive, the food will be ready. |
I won't leave until you get back. What will you do when you finish university? Will you call me as soon as you hear something?
Ordinea părților e liberă. Dacă partea cu conjuncția vine prima, după ea se pune virgulă: When I get home, I'll call you. Dacă vine a doua — virgulă nu e: I'll call you when I get home.
Dacă e important ca o treabă să fie încheiată de tot înainte să înceapă alta, după conjuncție se pune Present Perfect: I'll send you the report when I've finished it. — „ți-l trimit când îl termin (tot, în întregime)”. As soon as I've read the book, I'll give it back. Așa se spune cel mai des după when, after, as soon as, once, until. Present Simple e corect și aici; Present Perfect subliniază că treaba va fi gata. Viitor nu e nici aici.
Când se folosește. Trei situații tipice:
- te înțelegi cu cineva și promiți: I'll text you as soon as I land. — „Îți scriu imediat ce aterizez”;
- dai o instrucțiune: Don't open the door until the light goes green. — „Nu deschideți până nu se face verde”;
- împarți un plan pe pași: After we've had lunch, we'll go to the museum.
Dacă negația stă în partea principală, iese „nu înainte ca”: I won't pay until I see the car. — „Nu plătesc până nu văd mașina”.
Compară cu if și cu întrebarea. when are doi vecini și e confundat cu amândoi:
| I'll call you when I see her. | O văd sigur, întrebarea e doar când. |
| I'll call you if I see her. | Poate o văd, poate nu. |
| When will you be back? | Întrebarea „când?” — viitorul trebuie. |
| I don't know when he'll be back. | Întrebare indirectă (B1 #19) — viitorul trebuie. |
| I'll call you when he gets back. | Conjuncție de timp — prezentul. |
Every time I see him, he's on the phone. — despre ce se întâmplă mereu. Whenever you're in Leeds, come and see us. — despre viitor, dar you're, nu ✗ you'll be.
every și each. Each room has a TV.
| every — tot grupul deodată, „toți fără excepție” | Every student passed the exam. |
| each — pe fiecare în parte, unul după altul | The teacher spoke to each student. |
Se deosebesc și ca formă:
- each merge și despre doi: She had a bag in each hand. every — doar despre trei sau mai mulți.
- each stă și singur, și cu of: each of us, each of the rooms, We each got a copy. every nu poate așa: ✗ every of us → ✓ each of us sau every one of us.
- Cu almost, nearly, not merge doar every: almost every day, Not every hotel has a lift.
Acolo unde merg amândouă, diferența aproape nu se simte: every time și each time înseamnă același lucru.
Încă exemple:
| I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. | Îți spun imediat ce aflu ceva. |
| We won't start until everyone is here. | Nu începem până nu vin toți. |
| Before you go, could you close the window? | Înainte să pleci, închide, te rog, fereastra. |
| By the time you get there, the shop will be closed. |
| I'll read the news while you're driving. | Eu citesc știrile cât timp conduci tu. |
| The bus comes every twenty minutes. |
| Each of the rooms has its own bathroom. | Fiecare cameră are baia ei. |
| Each of you will get a copy when the meeting starts. |
Așa nu se spune. ✗ every days → ✓ every day.
Verifică-te. Cum spui „Sună-mă imediat ce ajungi”? De ce în I don't know when she'll arrive stă will? each sau every: She wore a ring on ___ hand?

Greșelile vorbitorilor de limba română
adaptat pentru limba tawill după when
„Te voi suna când voi ajunge acasă” → ✗ I'll call you when I will get home → ✓ I'll call you when I get home. E greșeala principală a lecției: ✗ as soon as I will know → ✓ as soon as I know.
„Nu” din „până nu”
„Nu plecăm până nu se oprește ploaia” → ✗ We won't leave until the rain doesn't stop → ✓ We won't leave until the rain stops. La fel ✗ Wait here until I don't come back → ✓ Wait here until I come back.
„Până ajungi, mâncarea va fi gata” → ✗ Until you arrive, the food will be ready → ✓ By the time you arrive, the food will be ready. until — cât timp ține ceva, până la un moment; „până la momentul acela, deja” e by the time.
„Fiecare” — mereu every
„Fiecare dintre noi”, „în fiecare mână” → ✗ every of us, ✗ a ring on every hand → ✓ each of us, a ring on each hand.
| I'll call you when I get home. | /aɪl ˈkɔːl jə wen aɪ ɡet ˈhəʊm/ — when slab |
| as soon as I know | /əz ˈsuːn əz aɪ ˈnəʊ/ — ambele as sună /əz/ |
| until I come back | /ənˈtɪl aɪ kʌm ˈbæk/ — „ăntilai” |
Dacă partea cu conjuncția vine prima, vocea urcă la sfârșitul ei — „urmează continuarea” —, iar la sfârșitul părții principale coboară: When I get home ↗, I'll call you ↘.
each și every: each /iːtʃ/ — /iː/ lung, nu-l confunda cu itch /ɪtʃ/ — „a mânca (pielea)”. every /ˈevri/ — două silabe: e din mijloc nu se citește.
Text
5 minHi Sam,
Here's the plan for Friday. I'll get to the venue at eight, and I'll text you as soon as I arrive. Please don't let anyone in until I've checked the room — the projector didn't work last time.
When the participants arrive, each of them will get a badge and a printed programme. Every badge has a name and a group number on it. There are forty people, so we'll need two tables: one for groups one to three and the other for groups four and five.
The first session starts at half past nine. Before it begins, could you check that every chair has a pen and a feedback form? While I'm giving the introduction, you can look after the late arrivals.
We'll have a short break every hour and a half. After lunch, the groups will swap rooms, so some people will stay where they are and others will move upstairs.
By the time we finish, everyone will be tired, so let's keep the closing short. I'll send you the photos once I get home.
One other thing: could you bring another extension lead? We never have enough. If you have any questions, call me — I'll be in the office until six on Thursday.
Thanks! Jo
